After many days of sifting through stacks of remix entries and making painful decisions, its finally time to announce the winners of our ‘Switch The Flip’ Remix competition! Just before we do, we want to take our hats off to all those who entered and say a BIG thank you for all your hard work crafting those remixes. There were some really quality entries and we had a very hard job on our hands picking out the 3 top places.
Before we announce the official winners, we just want to mention a few quality entries which were shortlisted but didn’t quite make it to the finals:
Respect goes out to Graham Acidic for his quality Dub-step rework, E.R.G for their bouncy Electro-House wobbler and Andy Faze for his Psy-tinged, Tech-funk thumper.
Thanks guys and better luck next time (more info on that below).
AND NOW FOR THE FINALISTS!
The 2 runner’s up are:
Up and coming French Producer MartOpetEr http://soundcloud.com/pit-aka-martopeter with his excellent Electro-tech-funk roller and German based producer La Corunia http://soundcloud.com/la-corunia, with his awesome, glitched up Electro house cut.
Last but by no means least we are very excited to award the 1st place winning entry to:
The Analogeeks http://soundcloud.com/theanalogeeks-1
For their rolling, Electro-Tech monster. Excellent production and original sounds from this French duo, with a solid groove and awesome Electro FX. No strangers to the production game, these guys have been rocking many quality dance labels with their stomping, Electro tinged Breaks and its great to hear them ‘switching’ their style to something a little smoother and deeper for their winning entry.
Big ups to these guys for a really quality production, we hope to hear plenty more of their work on future AUX releases.
Previews of all the winning entries will be posted up very soon so watch this space, or even better, hook up with us on Soundcloud and Twitter for more up to date AUX business!

[SIC] – ‘SUBSTANCE ABUSE’

Bristol’s finest minimal export: [sic] AKA Dan Jefferies, is back on AUX following on from the success of his last AUX release ‘We Are Not Alone’ and brand new releases on Slime, Re:sound and Malfunktion Records.
Laying down 2 brand new tracks of stripped back, atmospheric Techno with a deeper and darker sound than his previous work. His tracks have seen consistently good reviews from the likes of iDJ, Core mag and DMC update, with tracks regularly supported by many big names, including Dubfire, Gary Beck, Anthony Pappa, Anil Chawla, Hernan Cattaneo and Calvertron. [sic]’s 2 originals are both dark, late night rollers with deep bass, crisp beats and lush atmospherics, all highlighted by his trademark, clinical production skills.
The Substance Abuse EP comes with a hefty dose of remixes, comprising of some of Techno’s biggest up and coming talent:Rektchordz AKA Jamie Smithson (U&A, AUX, Circuitfreq) with a new found love of Techno, takes the lead with a monstrous, big-room, bassline groover, which takes the lead of the original but increases the pressure to boiling point. This is followed by Erase Records boss: Wasabi’s bouncy tribal, tech work-out which provides a welcome change in direction. Rounding things off with a bang, we have an awesome debut remix from The Occult, AKA The Freerange Djs, who not content with recently taking over the Breaks scene, have now turned their attention to Techno. With this thumping, yet smooth remix, it looks like they will soon be causing an eruption amongst the Techno fraternity as well.
